Description

Bahari is the first East African premium rum. Steeped in the rich history of Indian Ocean’s eastern waters, Bahari’s unique identity comes from sugar cane lulled by the ocean trade winds and distilled in Kenya. The Indian Ocean is home to archipelagos that have produced exceptionnal rums: Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, Reunion island. Located further north, right on the Equator, our cane thrives in the longer hours of sunshine. This makes it more sugary and gives Bahari its generosity and roundness. From the ocean trade winds, our sugar cane gets its robustness, which translates into the full bodied character of Bahari.

The flavour of some of the spices transported in the dhows across the ocean have made their way into Bahari rum, especially the beautiful notes of Bourbon vanilla. In the nose, aromas of wood recall the tropical woods used in the crafting of shows. In the lush countryside of the southern Kenyan coast, banana trees grow so abudantly that sometimes, the fruit remains unharvested, baking slowly in the sun. This delicate scent of slowly cooked banana is a predominant note of Bahari rum.

Bahari Blue Rum is a delicate mix of Kenyan molasses and old rum aged in American casks. This unique blend gives a full bodied and well balanced rum.
